Linzy was born on Vancouver Island British Columbia in 1987. She started drawing as a child and discovered creating art was her greatest passion in life.

At 15 Linzy entered her first art competition. Two months later she was flown to Ottawa to receive first place for British Columbia in the Canada Day Poster Contest, and to see her painting displayed in the Canadian Children’s Museum.

At 17 Linzy was awarded a full scholarship to The Art Institute of Vancouver and graduated with a diploma in Graphic Design. Afterward Linzy studied at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design for painting.

After experimenting in different art forms Linzy found her true love in acrylics and textural mediums. Linzy is now living her childhood dream with her artwork represented in galleries in Vancouver and New York City and participating in summer art shows in Vancouver.

Artist Statement

My work is a visual expression of unspoken emotion and driven by the impulses of inspiration.

My work evokes the rawness of human nature, the unknown, the unexpressed. Through layers of paint and texture, color, line and shape, it reveals the complexity, the pains and joys of life.

Painting carries me away to a place where I can let curiosity, freedom and emotion take over and create visually my deepest thoughts, and experiences. I stay true to myself, creating where passion lies, while pushing my own limits to discover and overcome challenges.

My hope is to connect people through my work, to heal wounds, to deliver hope, and to create a lasting experience.
