Johanna Newman Designer / Owner

Born in Vancouver, B.C. Canada

Attended Kwantlen College in which she completed her degree in marketing / fashion design. She has recently taken courses in fashion design, lapidary, silversmith, and the art of glass / bead making.

In 2005 she created her company known as JGN Designs in which she designs unique one-of-kind pieces: scarves, innovative pieces, textiles, rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and anklets. Each item is handcrafted and true to her nature: feminine, bold, majestic, elegant and simply timeless.

Johanna has managed to keep her innovative fashion accessories / textile creations a step above by introducing her creations first & keeping ahead of the trends. One of many examples are her rings; she was the first to create her stunning line of pearl / Swarovski rings and scarf necklaces.

Her work exudes confidence and she is not afraid to try new things with the designs or materials. Johanna believes that designers should lead and push boundaries. She continues to devote energy to a broad range of creative explorations.

Johanna’s innovative accessories combine colours, patterns and designs and as a result of techniques, custom construction, vibrancy and luster, express and celebrate our unique personalities.

She designs her hand-woven textiles into feminine & hip one-of-kind pieces. All works are crafted with attention to quality and her pristine catch on detail. Johanna believes that her designs are more than an accessory; it is a form of expression and must be worn with sheer confidence.

Combining traditional knitting & crocheting methods with her expressive use of fibre, colour, texture & design make her artistic style distinct.
