| Artist's Comments: | Canadian artist Irma Bijdemast was born in Holland and raised in Victoria & Vancouver, British Columbia. Irma has called South Surrey her home since 1988. Living in her Panorama Ridge haven amidst the eagle-laden trees provides perfect harmony for creating unique and original pieces of art full of life’s passion. Irma’s respect for and love of nature greatly inspire her work. Irma’s preferred medium is acrylic and mixed media on canvas. Her work can be described as ’rich in texture and bold colours all the way’. Irma’s abstract works have recently sold to art collectors from Canada & the U.S. Current works are showing at the Surrey Art Gallery (Sales & Rentals), Surrey, BC and at the Mind & Matter Art Gallery, White Rock, BC. Former works have been shown at the Maple Ridge Art Gallery, Maple Ridge, BC and at Azulejo’s Community Art Gallery, New Westminster, BC. 2010 showings are booked for the Mikelson Art Festival in White Rock (July), the Vancouver Painters’ Circle at English Bay (August) and the Arts Alive festival in Langley (August), in addition to various other art sales and community events and showings.
